In 1982, a small group of local musicians formed the Pine Bush Community Band. The band performed Free Public Concerts in our area. Today, under the direction of Joe Martellaro, the tradition continues, and the small group has grown to a full concert band.
Rehearsals are held weekly, on Mondays, at the Town of Crawford Government Center located on NYS Route 302 in Pine Bush (across from Pine Bush High School). The band performs about twelve concerts, parades and other events each year.
No auditions are required and membership is free!
PBCB is a family, dedicated to providing music to the public. We are funded in large part by the Town of Crawford. Our performance season begins on Memorial Day and our concerts continue throughout the summer and into the winter holiday season.
You can find out more about these free concerts at this site and in area newspapers.
Help The Band
PBCB relies on public donations. In addition to free public concerts, we use some of our funding to purchase instruments that you would otherwise not hear in a community band. For example, in recent years, the band has been able to acquire its own tympani (large copper drums), bass drum, drum set, cymbals, bass clarinet, keyboard and sound system.
If you would like to help support the band's efforts,
a tax-deductible contribution can be sent to the address below.
